Adam Geisler

Mr. Adam Geisler is the Long Term Recovery Coordinator for the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians located on the side of Palomar Mountain outside of San Diego, California.

Currently, Mr. Geisler is the Director of Housing Management for the All Mission Indian Housing Authority (AMIHA). AMIHA serves as “The Designated Housing Entity” for 8 Tribes located throughout Southern California.

In 2007, Mr. Geisler facilitated the communications between Tribal, Federal, State, and local agencies to rebuild the La Jolla Reservation after being devastated by Wildfires.

Throughout the disaster, Mr. Geisler worked with numerous faith-based and community lead organizations including Mennonite Disaster Services (MDS), Jewish Family Services, The San Diego Foundation, and the Regional Community Response Team (RCRT).

 

Through continued partnership with a variety of agencies Adam Geisler and the La Jolla Disaster Recovery Team continue to guide the Tribe through the 25% Federal match process of FEMA, rebuild of all 39 homes lost in the Wildfires, facilitate mass food agreements with the American Red Cross, and establish 2 non-profit organizations.

 

Mr. Geisler is a current board member of the Inter-Tribal Long Term Recovery Foundation that represents 9 of the 18 Tribes in San Diego County. The organization is a non-profit, public benefit corporation with a mission to strengthen area-wide disaster coordination on tribal lands affected by wildfires and other disasters by sharing information, simplifying resident access to services, and jointly resolving cases with disaster-caused recovery needs.

Mr. Geisler holds a B.A. in music for San Diego State University.
